"Lawn Bowling is a sport for life", which can be easily learned. It is a sport of age and gender equality as the ladies compete side by side with and against the gents. NVLBC boasts over 20 coaches and offers lessons for new bowlers during the month of April, before the season begins.
5. I HEAR LAWN BOWLING HAS A LOT OF RULES, SUCH AS YOU HAVE TO WEAR WHITES. IS THIS TRUE?
Dress is optional most of the time. Whites or the club colours, blue and yellow, must be worn for most competitions and tournaments. Some of the tournaments have themes and dress as described by the convenors Hawaiian, Red and White, Black and White, etc. Competitions outside the club require team members to wear whites or club colours. Flat, smooth soled shoes must be worn at all times when on the greens. All bowlers are asked to wear their name tags.
